Planning a Wedding – Wedding Entertainment
When organising a wedding there are several important factors to take into account; wedding dress, outfits, budgets, honeymoon and hiring the right type of wedding entertainment for the occasion.
Tackling each step one by one and taking great care over each can help ensure that your day goes as smoothly as possible. Make a few wrong decisions and they can prove disastrous!
Your wedding entertainment is one of the most important aspects of the day. There are several aspects to consider; what type of music is best suited for the audience, would karaoke suffice, a wedding DJ maybe? Perhaps something more ‘upmarket’ like Classical Guitar or a string quartet.
What is the general age group / culture? Maybe the popular choice of classical spanish guitar would suit or perhaps a traditional disco. It may be worth your time organising a vote on what style of music should be played but remember, the bride has the final say on her special day!!
Another thing to avoid, is booking someone who is a friend of a friend for the wedding entertainment. Do your research and make quite sure that who you are hiring are suited to your audience and are understanding of what your requirements are, try to avoid the ‘hit and hope’ tactic of hiring without hearing!
Try to find experienced wedding singers who know how to keep the performance understated yet fitting to your requirements. Make some calls to local entertainers and see if they are willing to fulfil your requirements. Some entertainers can perform a multitude of different entertainment roles, childrens entertainment, disco, acoustic sets etc.. Check to see if the wedding entertainer has a website with pictures, video and testimonials to see what they are like before making a decision.
Check as many websites and sounds as possible and discuss them with your partner. You will get there in the end with some perseverance, make it a day to remember!
