Bracelets Have Become Available In Numerous Differing Kinds
Bracelets have once again caught the attention of the public today. There was a time when bracelets were meant to show or mean something. For example, travelers in the 16th century used bracelets to signify the places that they had travelled to, much later on in the 20th century this feature of bracelets has again been revived. Similarly, charm bracelets were used long ago by the ancients to ward of spirits and as signs of luck and faith. Today, they no longer hold such auspicious values and rather are more of a fashion accessory.
Bracelets come in many colors and some color coded bracelets are supposed to carry a deeper meaning. Such bracelets not only differ in the styling but also in the exact color shades. Bracelets to show religious beliefs are a special case of these color coded bracelets. Other meanings of colored bracelets are relationship indicators and status indicators. Some color bracelets show the closeness of two persons while others simply signify friendship. Then there are color changing types which change as per the mood of the person wearing the bracelet.
The use of charms further complicates meaning of bracelets. Many charm bracelets are worn today for its personal meanings. A charm with the initial of a loved one to show one’s feelings, charms with certain animal figures to show beliefs and of course, charms in the shape of landmarks to show places visited. These are just a few of the meanings that charms can give.
Some bracelets are cheap and easy to find. These are made of simple materials such as plastic or rubber. These bracelets were made popular by many world health foundations that marketed such bracelets as a sign of volunteerism with them and as a sign of support for their cause. Bracelets do not all come cheap. Some are quite expensive being made from more than the usual 18k gold, encrusted with gems and diamonds, maybe even Swarovski crystals. Such beautiful bracelets also come as a part of a complete solitaire with earrings, ring, necklace and a bracelet to complete it. Pearls are a favorite for adorning bracelets.
Animal bracelets are seeing an increase in popularity worldwide. The popularity can be attributed to the charm of these bracelets and the different designs each animal bracelet has. Many can be worn on a daily basis while others are a little costlier and fragile that are meant for occasional use. A few popular animal bracelets are chameleon bracelets, Iguana and Gecko bracelets.
